عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ شَدَّادٍ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ نَشِيجَ عُمَرَ وَإِنِّي لَفِي الصَّفِّ خَلْفَهُ فِي صَلَاةٍ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ يُوسُفَ، حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى: ﴿إِنَّمَا أَشْكُو بَثِّي وَحُزْنِي إِلَى اللهِ ﴾
Translation
✧ I heard Umar's sobbing while I was in the row behind him in prayer as he was reciting Surat Yusuf, until he reached: "I only complain of my grief and sorrow to Allah."
