✧ A Well into Which an Animal Falls

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا قَالَ:

إِذَا سَقَطَتِ الْفَأْرَةُ فِي الْبِئْرِ فَتَقَطَّعَتْ نُزِعَ مِنْهَا سَبْعَةُ أَدْلَاءٍ، فَإِنْ كَانَتِ الْفَأْرَةُ كَهَيْئَتِهَا لَمْ تُقَطَّعْ، نُزِعَ مِنْهَا دَلْوٌ وَدَلْوَانِ، فَإِنْ كَانَتْ مُنْتِنَةً أَعْظَمَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَلْيُنْزَعْ مِنَ الْبِئْرِ مَا يُذْهِبُ الرِّيحَ

Translation

✧ If a mouse falls into a well and disintegrates, seven buckets are drawn from it. If the mouse is in its original state and has not disintegrated, a bucket or two is drawn from it. If it is putrid, more than that, then let enough be drawn from the well to remove the smell.
