✧ A Well into Which an Animal Falls

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ:
سَأَلْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ، عَنْ دَجَاجَةٍ وَقَعَتْ فِي بِئْرٍ فَمَاتَتْ، فَقَالَ: لَا بَأْسَ أَنْ يُتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهَا وَيُشْرَبَ، إِلَّا أَنْ تَنْتِنَ حَتَّى يُوجَدَ رِيحُ نَتْنِهَا فِي الْمَاءِ فَتُنْزَحَ
Translation
✧ I asked al-Zuhri about a chicken that fell into a well and died. He said: There is no harm in performing ablution from it and drinking, unless it putrefies until the smell of its stench is found in the water, then it should be drained.
