machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Maʿmar, from Ibn Ṭāwūs, from his father:
✧ When he began the prayer, he would say: 'Allah is greatest, greatly. And praise be to Allah, much, good, and blessed therein.' Then he would say: 'My Lord, Lord of the heavens and the earth. We will not call upon any god other than Him. Then we would have uttered an enormity. Allah is greatest, Allah is greatest. I have turned my face to the One who created the heavens and the earth...' up to '...and I am of the Muslims.' Then he would say: 'My Lord, Lord of the heavens and the earth. We will not call upon any god other than Him. Then we would have uttered an enormity. Allah is greatest. Praise be to Allah. There is no god but Allah. Glory be to Allah. Blessed is Allah. Exalted is Allah. Whatever Allah wills. There is no might and no power except with Allah. I bear witness that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah, glory be to Him... Glory be to my Lord Most High. Glory be to the King, the Holy, the Mighty, the Wise. My Lord, forgive me. My Lord, have mercy on me. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from the spurs of the devils, and I seek refuge with You, my Lord, from their presence. I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed devil. Allah is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.' He said: He used to say: 'This is the voluntary prayer.'
