machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Ibn Jurayj, who said:
✧ I said to Ata: I have seen you pronounce the takbir with your hands when you open the prayer, when you bow, when you raise your head from the first prostration and from the last, and when you straighten up from the second unit. He said: "Yes." I said: Has it reached you that the takbir for opening the prayer with the hands is greater than the others? He said: "No." I said: Does one pass the hands behind the ears? He said: "No." He said: "It has reached me from Uthman that he used to pass his hands behind his ears."
