Translation
✧ Ibn 'Umar used to say the takbir with his hands when he began the prayer, when he bowed, when he said 'Sami'a Allahu liman hamidah', when he raised his head from the rak'ah, and when he stood upright from the second rak'ah. He did not say the takbir with his hands when he raised his head from the two prostrations. I said to Nafi': 'Did Ibn 'Umar make the first of them the highest?' He said: 'No, all the same.' I said: 'Did he bring any of them past his ears?' He said: 'No, nor did it reach his face.' He then gestured to me toward the chest or lower than that.
