✧ The Extent of What Screens the Worshipper

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ:
كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ لَا يُصَلِّي إِلَى هَذِهِ الْأَمْيَالِ الَّتِي بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ، وَكَانَتْ مِنَ الْحِجَارَةِ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: لِمَ كَرِهْتَ ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ: " شَبَّهْتُهَا بِالْأَنْصَابِ
Translation
✧ Ibn Umar would not pray toward these mile-markers that are between Makkah and Madinah, which were made of stones. It was said to him: Why do you dislike that? He said: "I likened them to the standing stones (ansab)."
