✧ The time of Asr

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدٌ،
أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ وَجَدَ الْمُنْكَدِرَ يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ، فَجَلَسَ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ مَعَهُ الدِّرَّةُ قَالَ: مَا هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةُ ؟ انْصَرِفْ، فَاتَتْنِي مِنَ الْعَصْرِ رَكْعَتَانِ، فَقَالَ: إِذَا فَاتَتْ أَحَدَكُمُ الْعَصْرُ أَوْ بَعْضُهَا، فَلَا يُطَوِّلُ حَتَّى تُدْرِكَهُ صُفْرَةُ الشَّمْسِ
Translation
✧ Umar b. al-Khattab found al-Munkadir praying after Asr, so he sat beside him with the whip. He said, 'What is this prayer? Leave. I missed two rak'ahs of Asr.' He said, 'If any of you misses Asr or part of it, he should not prolong it until the yellowness of the sun reaches him.'
