Chain of narrators

machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq informed us, from Maʿmar, from al-Aʿmash, from Zayd b. Wahb, from Ḥudhayfah, who said:

Machine translation, not reviewed

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrated to us two hadiths; I have seen one of them and I am waiting for the other. He narrated to us: that trustworthiness (amānah) descended into the roots of the hearts of men, and the Qur'an was sent down, so they recited the Qur'an and learned from the Sunnah. Then he narrated to us about its being taken away, and he said: "Trustworthiness will be taken away, so a man will sleep, then wake up, and trustworthiness will have been taken from his heart, and its trace will remain like the trace of a spot (wakt) - or he said: like a blister (majl) - like an ember you roll onto your foot: you see it swollen, but there is nothing inside it. And trustworthiness will be taken away until it is said: Among the sons of so-and-so there is a trustworthy man, and among the sons of so-and-so there is a trustworthy man, and it will be said of a man: how steadfast he is, how elegant, how intelligent! while in his heart there is not even a mustard seed's weight of faith." He said: There came a time upon me when I did not mind which of you I dealt with: if he was a Muslim, his Islam would return him to me, and if he was a Christian or Jew, his official would return him to me. But as for today, I would not deal with any of you except so-and-so and so-and-so."
