✧ Hides of Dead Animals When Tanned

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُكَيْمٍ قَالَ:
قُرِئَ عَلَيْنَا كِتَابُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي أَرْضِ جُهَيْنَةَ وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ شَابٌّ أَلَّا تَسْتَمْتِعُوا مِنَ الْمَيْتَةِ بِشَيْءٍ بِإِهَابٍ وَلَا عَصَبٍ
Translation
✧ The letter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was read to us in the land of Juhaynah while I was a young boy: Do not make use of anything from a dead animal, neither hide nor sinew.
