أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ:
إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَكُونُ مَعَ النَّجَدَاتِ، وَقَالَ: أَصَبْتُ ذُنُوبًا، وَأُحِبُّ أَنْ تَعُدَّ عَلَيَّ الْكَبَائِرَ، قَالَ: " فَعَدَّ عَلَيْهِ سَبْعًا أَوْ ثَمَانِيًا: الْإِشْرَاكُ بِاللهِ، وَعُقُوقُ الْوَالِدَيْنِ، وَقَتْلُ النَّفْسِ، وَأَكْلُ الرِّبَا، وَأَكْلُ مَالِ الْيَتِيمِ، وَقَذْفُ الْمُحْصَنَةِ، وَالْيَمِينُ الْفَاجِرَةُ "، ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: " هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ وَالِدَةٍ ؟ " قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: " فَأَطْعِمْهَا مِنَ الطَّعَامِ، وَأَلِنْ لَهَا الْكَلَامَ، فَوَاللهِ لَتَدْخُلَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ

He said: So he counted for him seven or eight: "Associating partners with God, disobedience to parents, killing a soul, consuming usury, consuming the property of the orphan, slandering a chaste woman, and the false oath." Then Ibn ʿUmar said to him: "Do you have a mother?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Then feed her food and speak softly to her. By God, you will enter Paradise."
