✧ Prayer is better than sleep

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ،
أَنَّ سَعْدًا أَوَّلُ مَنْ قَالَ: الصَّلَاةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ النَّوْمِ فِي خِلَافَةِ عُمَرَ، فَقَالَ: بِدْعَةٌ، ثُمَّ تَرَكَهُ، وَإِنَّ بِلَالًا لَمْ يُؤَذِّنْ لِعُمَرَ
Translation
✧ Sa'd was the first to say 'prayer is better than sleep' during the caliphate of Umar, and he called it an innovation, then he abandoned it. Indeed, Bilal did not give the call to prayer for Umar.
