عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ أَسِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ،
أَنَّ شَاعِرًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ: أُنْشِدُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: لَا. قَالَ: بَلَى فَأْذَنْ لِي، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: فَاخْرُجْ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ، فَخَرَجَ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ قَالَ: فَأَعْطَاهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ثَوْبًا وَقَالَ: هَذَا بَدَلُ مَا مَدَحْتَ بِهِ رَبَّكَ
Translation
✧ A poet came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in the mosque and said: "Shall I recite poetry to you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "No." The poet said: "Yes, so give me permission." The Prophet ﷺ said: "Then leave the mosque." He left the mosque. The Prophet ﷺ gave him a garment and said: "This is in place of the praise you gave your Lord."
