✧ Spitting in the mosque

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ:

إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ فَإِنَّكَ تُنَاجِي رَبَّكَ فَلَا تَبْصُقْ أَمَامَكَ، وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ، وَلَكِنْ عَنْ شِمَالِكَ، فَإِنْ كَانَ عَنْ شِمَالِكَ مَا يَشْغَلُكَ فَابْصُقْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ

Translation

✧ When you pray, you are conversing with your Lord, so do not spit in front of you, nor to your right, but to your left; and if there is something on your left that obstructs you, then spit under your foot.
