That he came to ʿĀʾishah, the Mother of the Believers, together with ʿUbayd b. ʿUmayr. She was staying in the vicinity of Thabīr, in the area of Minā. ʿUbayd said: "O mother! What is the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: ﴿لا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ اللهُ بِاللَّغْوِ فِي أَيْمَانِكُمْ ﴾?" She said: "It is the man who says: No, by Allah, and Yes, by Allah." ʿUbayd said: "O mother, when is the Hijrah?" She said: "There is no Hijrah after the Conquest. The Hijrah was only before the Conquest, when a man would emigrate with his religion to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. But when the Conquest came, then wherever a man wishes he worships Allah, and he will not be lost."
