أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ،
أَنَّ مُكَاتَبًا عَرَضَ عَلَى سَيِّدِهِ بَقِيَّةَ كِتَابَتِهِ، فَأَبَى سَيِّدُهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عَمْرُو بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَهُوَ أَمِيرُ مَكَّةَ: هَلُمَّ مَا بَقِيَ عَلَيْكَ، فَضَعْهُ فِي بَيْتِ الْمَالِ، وَأَنْتَ حُرٌّ، وَخُذْ أَنْتَ نُجُومَكَ كُلَّ عَامٍ "، فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ سَيِّدُهُ أَخَذَ مَالَهُ
