عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ:
هَمَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ، أَنْ يَنْهَى عَنِ الْحِبَرَةِ مِنْ صِبَاغِ الْبَوْلِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: أَلَيْسَ قَدْ رَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ لَبِسَهَا ؟ قَالَ: عُمَرُ: بَلَى، قَالَ الرَّجُلُ: أَلَمْ يَقُلِ اللهُ: ﴿لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللهِ أُسْوَةٌ ﴾فَتَرَكَهَا عُمَرُ
Translation
✧ 'Umar b. al-Khaṭṭāb intended to forbid ḥibara (striped Yemeni cloth) dyed with urine, but a man said to him: "Did you not see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wearing it?" 'Umar said: "Yes." The man said: "Did not Allah say: 'Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example'?" So 'Umar abandoned that.
