Translation
✧ 'Alqamah was wearing a burd - or he said: a garment - in which there was a trace of blood that had been washed but did not go away, and he used to pray in it. Someone said to him: 'If only you would set it aside and wear something else.' He replied: 'Among the things that make prayer in it beloved to me is that I see the blood of Mi'dad in it.' He said: 'We were besieging a fortress in Adharbayjan when a stone was thrown and struck him, cutting his head and causing blood to flow down his face. I implored him, so he took this burd of mine, wrapped it around his head as a turban, and began wiping the blood while saying: "By Allah, it is only a minor wound, and Allah, Blessed and Exalted, blesses even a minor wound." He said: 'And his skull was split by a sword.' He said: 'Mi'dad later died from that wound.'
