عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ:
أَنَّهُ اعْتَمَرَ مَعَ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فِي رَكْبٍ فِيهِمْ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ فَعَرَّسَ قَرِيبًا مِنْ بَعْضِ الْمِيَاهِ، فَاحْتَلَمَ فَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَقَدْ أَصْبَحَ فَلَمْ يَجِدْ فِي الرَّكْبِ مَاءً فَرَكِبَ، وَكَانَ الرَّفْعُ حَتَّى جَاءَ الْمَاءَ فَجَلَسَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ يَغْسِلُ مَا فِي ثَوْبِهِ مِنَ الِاحْتِلَامِ فَلَمَّا أَسْفَرَ، قَالَ لَهُ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ: أَصْبَحْتَ دَعْ ثَوْبَكَ يُغْسَلُ، وَالْبَسْ بَعْضَ ثِيَابِنَا فَقَالَ: وَاعَجَبًا لَكَ يَا عَمْرُو لَئِنْ كُنْتَ تَجِدُ الثِّيَابَ أَفَكُلُّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ يَجِدُونَ الثِّيَابَ ؟ فَوَاللهِ لَوْ فَعَلْتُهَا لَكَانَتْ سُنَّةً، بَلْ أَغْسِلُ مَا رَأَيْتُ، وَأَنْضَحُ مَا لَمْ أَرَ
Translation
✧ He performed umrah with Umar b. al-Khattab in a group that included Amr b. al-As. Umar halted for the night near some of the waters, then he had a wet dream. He woke and morning had come, and he found no water in the group, so he mounted, and the journey continued until he came to the water. He sat by the water washing what was in his garment from the wet dream. When it became bright, Amr b. al-As said to him: You have reached the morning. Leave your garment to be washed and wear some of our garments. He said: How amazing you are, O Amr! If you can find garments, does every Muslim find garments? By God, if I did it, it would become a sunnah. Rather, I wash what I saw and sprinkle what I did not see.
