✧ What Expiates the Ablution and the Prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَهُ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْجُنْدَعِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ حُمْرَانَ مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ،
أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَهَرَاقَ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، وَاسْتَنْثَرَ ثَلَاثًا، وَمَضْمَضَ ثَلَاثًا، وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا، وَغَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى إِلَى الْمِرْفَقِ ثَلَاثًا، وَغَسَلَ الْيُسْرَى مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ قَدَمَهُ الْيُمْنَى ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ الْيُسْرَى مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ نَحْوَ وُضُوئِي، ثُمَّ قَالَ: مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ مِثْلَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَرَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ لَمْ يُحَدِّثْ فِيهِمَا نَفْسَهُ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ
Translation
✧ Uthman performed ablution and poured water over his hands three times, and snuffed water into his nose and blew it out three times, and rinsed his mouth three times, and washed his face three times, and washed his right hand up to the elbow three times, and washed the left one likewise, then wiped his head, then washed his right foot three times, then the left one likewise. Then he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform ablution like this ablution of mine. Then he said: Whoever performs ablution like this ablution of mine, then stands and prays two rak'ahs without talking to himself during them, his previous sins will be forgiven.
