✧ What suffices a man of clothing

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مِقْسَمٍ قَالَ:
رَأَيْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ: أَتُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ وَالثِّيَابُ إِلَى جَنْبِكَ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، مِنْ أَجْلِ أَحْمَقَ مِثْلِكَ
Translation
✧ I saw Jabir b. 'Abd Allah praying in a single garment. I said: 'Do you pray in a single garment while clothes are beside you?' He said: 'Yes, because of a fool like you.'
