✧ What suffices a man of clothing

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَسْحٍ، أَخْبَرَهُ،
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ عَرَّسَ إِلَى مَاءٍ فَجَاءَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ وَهُوَ مَاشٍ فَعَرَّسَ إِلَى ذَلِكَ الْمَاءِ فَهَبَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: مَنْ ذَا ؟ فَقَالَ: أَنَا مُعَاذٌ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: يَا مُعَاذُ مَا لَكَ بَعِيرٌ ؟ قَالَ: لَا، قَالَ: فَتَوَضَّأَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى فَكَأَنَّهُ يَتَعَرَّ إِزَارَهُ، فَاتَّزَرَ فَصَلَّى فِي مُتَّزَرِهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لِمُعَاذٍ: قُمْ فَارْحَلْ، وَأَحْسِنِ الْحَقِيقَةَ، وَاجْعَلْ لِنَفْسِكَ مَقْعَدًا فَقَالَ: مَا أُحْسِنُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَرَحَّلَ، وَجَعَلَ لَهُ مَجْلِسًا وَأَرْدَفَهُ مَعَهُ
Translation
✧ The Prophet ﷺ, during one of his journeys, stopped to rest at a watering place. Mu'adh b. Jabal came walking and also stopped at that water. The Prophet ﷺ woke up and said, 'Who is this?' He said, 'I am Mu'adh.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Mu'adh, do you not have a camel?' He said, 'No.' Then the Prophet ﷺ performed ablution, then stood and prayed. It was as if he was wrapping his lower garment around himself, so he tied it and prayed in his waist wrapper. Then he said to Mu'adh, 'Get up and set the saddle, and make the truth good, and make for yourself a seat.' He said, 'I do not know how, O Messenger of Allah.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up and set the saddle, made a place for him to sit, and seated him behind him.
