Translation
✧ Umar b. al-Khattab ؓ sent Salman on a military expedition. He camped by the Euphrates while in a tent of his made of wool or a cloak. He heard the voices of people and saw that they had camped by the water. He gestured with his hand like this—he raised his hand and clenched his fingers—and said: By God, to die then be resurrected, then die then be resurrected is dearer to me than to see a Muslim's private parts or for him to see mine.
