✧ Blood money for a Magian

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ،
أَنَّ أَبَا مُوسَى كَتَبَ إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ أَنَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ يَقَعُونَ عَلَى الْمَجُوسِ فَيَقْتُلُونَهُمْ، فَمَاذَا تَرَى ؟ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ عُمَرُ " فَإِنَّمَا هُمْ عَبِيدٌ فَأَقِمْهُمْ قِيمَةً فِيكُمْ "، فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ أَبُو مُوسَى: ثَمَانِمِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ، فَوَضَعَهَا عُمَرُ لِلْمَجُوسِ
Translation
✧ Abu Musa wrote to Umar b. al-Khattab that the Muslims fall upon the Magians and kill them, so what do you think? Umar wrote to him: "They are only slaves, so set their value among you." Abu Musa wrote to him: Eight hundred dirhams, and Umar set that for the Magians.
