✧ A Muslim giving a kunya to a polytheist

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ:
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَنَّى صَفْوَانَ بْنَ أُمَيَّةَ، وَهُوَ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُشْرِكٌ، جَاءَهَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: انْزِلْ أَبَا وَهْبٍ
Translation
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave the kunya to Safwan b. Umayya, while he was at that time a polytheist. He came to him on a horse, and the Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'Dismount, Abu Wahb.'
