أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ
: كَتَبَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فِي دِهْقَانَةٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ نَهَرِ الْمَلِكِ أَسْلَمَتْ، وَلَهَا أَرْضٌ كَثِيرَةٌ، فَكَتَبَ فِيهَا إِلَى عُمَرَ، فَكَتَبَ " أَنِ ادْفَعْ إِلَيْهَا أَرْضَهَا، وَتُؤَدِّي عَنْهَا الْخَرَاجَ
Translation
✧ Umar b. al-Khattab wrote concerning a village headwoman from the people of Nahr al-Malik who had embraced Islam and who owned much land. He wrote to Umar about her, and he wrote: "Give her back her land, and she shall pay the kharaj for it."
