أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ زِيَادَ بْنَ حُدَيْرٍ قَالَ:
إِنَّ أَوَّلَ عَاشِرٍ عَشَّرَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ لَأَنَا، وَمَا كُنَّا نَعْشُرُ مُسْلِمًا وَلَا مُعَاهَدًا. قَالَ: قُلْتُ: فَمَنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْشُرُونَ ؟ قَالَ: " نَصَارَى بَنِي تَغْلِبَ "، قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ: " فَحَدَّثَنِي إِنْسَانٌ عَنْ زِيَادٍ قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: وَكَمْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْشِرُونَهُمْ ؟ قَالَ: نِصْفَ الْعُشْرِ
Translation
✧ The first collector of tithes in Islam was I, and we did not tithe a Muslim or one with a treaty. He said: "I said: 'Then whom did you tithe?'" He said: "The Christians of Banu Taghlib." Ibrahim said: "Then a man narrated to me from Ziyad, saying: 'I asked him: How much did you tithe them?' He said: 'Half the tithe.'"
