أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ قَالَ:
لَمَّا تَيَسَّرَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ لِقِتَالِ أَهْلِ الرِّدَّةِ، قَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ: كَيْفَ تُقَاتِلُ النَّاسَ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " نص إضافيأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، فَإِذَا قَالُوهَا عَصَمُوا مِنِّي دِمَاءَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ إِلَّا بِحَقِّهَا، وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللهِ " ؟ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: " وَاللهِ لَأُقَاتِلُ مَنْ فَرَّقَ بَيْنَ الصَّلَاةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ، فَإِنَّ الزَّكَاةَ حَقُّ الْمَالِ، وَاللهِ لَوْ مَنَعُونِي عَنَاقًا كَانُوا يُؤَدُّونَهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَقَاتَلْتُهُمْ عَلَيْهَا ! فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: وَاللهِ مَا هُوَ إِلَّا أَنْ رَأَيْتُ اللهَ شَرَحَ صَدْرَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ لِلْقِتَالِ فَعَرَفْتُ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ
Translation
✧ When Abu Bakr resolved to fight the people of apostasy, 'Umar said to him: How will you fight the people, O Abu Bakr, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I have been commanded to fight the people until they say: There is no god but Allah. When they say it, they have protected their blood and their property from me, except for its right, and their reckoning is with Allah"? Abu Bakr said: "By Allah, I will fight whoever separates prayer from zakat, for zakat is the right of wealth. By Allah, if they withheld from me a young goat that they used to give to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I would fight them over it!" 'Umar said: By Allah, it was only that I saw Allah had opened Abu Bakr's chest to fighting, and I knew that it was the truth.
