✧ Hudud punishments for the people of the covenant

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ:
نُسِخَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ ﴿فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ أَوْ أَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ ﴾قَوْلَهُ [١]: ﴿وَأَنِ احْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ بِمَا أَنْـزَلَ اللهُ ﴾
Translation
✧ This verse was abrogated: 'So judge between them or turn away from them' (Q. 5:42), by His saying: 'And judge between them by what Allah has revealed' (Q. 5:49).
