✧ Expelling the Jews from Medina

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَ:
سَمِعَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْيَهُودِ يَقُولُ: قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: كَأَنِّي بِكَ وَضَعْتَ كُورَكَ عَلَى بَعِيرِكَ، ثُمَّ سِرْتَ لَيْلَةً بَعْدَ لَيْلَةٍ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: " وَاللهِ لَا تَمْشُونَ بِهَا "، فَقَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ: وَاللهِ مَا رَأَيْتُ كَلِمَةً كَانَتْ أَشَدَّ عَلَى مَنْ قَالَهَا، وَلَا أَهْوَنَ عَلَى مَنْ قِيلَتْ لَهُ مِنْهَا
Translation
✧ Umar b. al-Khattab heard a Jew say: “The Messenger of God ﷺ said to me: ‘It is as if I see you placing your saddle on your camel, then traveling night after night.’” Umar said: “By God, you will not walk with it.” The Jew said: “By God, I have never seen a statement that was harder on the one who said it, nor easier on the one to whom it was said, than this.”
