أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ كُرْدُوسٍ التَّغْلِبِيِّ قَالَ:
قَدِمَ عَلَى عُمَرَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ تَغْلِبَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ: إِنَّهُ قَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ نَصِيبٌ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَخُذُوا نَصِيبَكُمْ مِنَ الْإِسْلَامِ، فَصَالَحَهُ عَلَى أَنْ أُضَعِّفَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْجِزْيَةَ، وَلَا يُنَصِّرُوا الْأَبْنَاءَ
Translation
✧ A man from Taghlib came to Umar, and Umar said to him: You had a share in the Jahiliyyah, so take your share from Islam. He made a peace agreement with him on condition that he double the jizyah upon them and that they would not Christianize the children.
