أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:
إِنَّ عَبَّاسًا قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ: مَاذَا أَغْنَيْتَ عَنْ عَمِّكَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ؛ فَقَدْ كَانَ يَحُوطُكَ وَيَغْضَبُ لَكَ ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: هُوَ فِي ضَحْضَاحٍ مِنَ النَّارِ، وَلَوْلَا أَنَا لَكَانَ فِي الدَّرْكِ الْأَسْفَلِ مِنَ النَّارِ
Translation
✧ Al-'Abbas said to the Messenger of God ﷺ, 'What have you availed your uncle Abu Talib? For he used to protect you and become angry for you.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'He is in a shallow part of the Fire, and were it not for me, he would have been in the lowest depth of the Fire.'
