Notes

machine translationAbū ʿĪsā said: This ḥadīth is good and sound (ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ). Some of the people of knowledge have permitted delaying the ṭawāf of ziyārah until the night, and some of them considered it recommended to perform it on the Day of Sacrifice (yawm al-naḥr), while some allowed more latitude in delaying it, even until the last of the days of Minā.

What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Mubarakpūri

machine translationThere is room for objection in this ḥadīth being considered good (ḥasan), for Abū al-Zubayr did not hear from Ibn ʿAbbās and ʿĀʾishah.

    in جامع الترمذي, p. 948
  • Ibn al-Qayyim

machine translationThis ḥadīth is a clear error, contrary to what is known of the Prophet's ﷺ practice.

    in جامع الترمذي, p. 948
  • Ibn al-Qaṭṭān

machine translationIn my view this ḥadīth is not sound (ṣaḥīḥ), and Abū al-Zubayr is a concealer of defects in transmission (mudallis) who did not state here that he heard it from ʿĀʾishah.

    in جامع الترمذي, p. 948
  • al-Tirmidhi

    machine translationA good (ḥasan) hadith.
