حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ أخبرنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنِ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ

قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ أَىُّ أَصْحَابِ انَّبِيِّ ﷺ كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِليه؟ قَالَتْ أَبُو بَكْرٍ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَتْ ثُمَّ عُمَرُ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَتْ ثُمَّ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ فَسَكَتَتْ

Translation

"I said to 'Aishah: 'Which of the companions of the Prophet SAW were the most beloved to him?' She said: 'Abu Bakr.' I said: 'Then who?' She said ' 'Umar.' I said: 'Then who?' She said: 'Then Abu 'Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah.'" He said: I said: 'Then who?'" He said: "Then she was silent."
