machine translationMuʿādh b. Muʿādh al-ʿAnbarī narrated it from Ibn ʿAwn, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, as a statement of the Companion (mawqūf). I said to my father: Which of the two is more sound? My father said: Both, as they are narrated by two memorizers (ḥāfiẓ), and I do not know anyone who traces it back to the Prophet (yusniduhu) except ʿĪsā b. Yūnus, and the mawqūf version is more likely.
