machine translationIt is narrated by Ibn ʿAjlān, Ibn Abī Dhiʾb and Mālik b. Anas, and there are differences about them. Abū ʿĀṣim al-Nabīl, Ibn ʿUyaynah and Yaḥyā al-Qaṭṭān narrated it from Ibn ʿAjlān, from Saʿīd, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Prophet ﷺ. Khālid b. al-Ḥārith differed from them and narrated it from Ibn ʿAjlān as a statement of the Companion (mawqūf). Ibn ʿUyaynah alone among them said in his narration: "A woman must not travel more than three," while the others did not specify and left the travel unrestricted. As for Ibn Abī Dhiʾb, Yaḥyā al-Qaṭṭān, Mūsā b. Dāwūd and Wakīʿ b. al-Jarrāḥ narrated it from him, from Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from Abū Hurayrah. Ibn Abī Iyās differed from them and narrated it from Ibn Abī Dhiʾb, from Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah. ʿAlī b. Ḥarb likewise said so from Wakīʿ, from Ibn Abī Dhiʾb. As for Mālik, the narrators of the Muwaṭṭaʾ narrated it from him, from Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from Abū Hurayrah, among them al-Qaʿnabī, Ibn Wahb, Abū Muṣʿab, al-Shāfiʿī, Maʿn and Ibn al-Mubārak. ʿAbdullāh b. Nāfiʿ al-Ṣāʾigh, Bishr b. ʿUmar al-Zahrānī and Isḥāq al-Fazārī differed from them and narrated it from Mālik, from Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah. It is likewise narrated from Abū Jaʿfar al-Thaqafī, from Mālik, except that he said in it: "I think, from his father." It is also said from him: "I think it is from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Hurayrah," and this statement is not sound. Al-Layth b. Saʿd narrated it from Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah. There is a difference about Kathīr b. Zayd: Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥanafī narrated it from Kathīr, from al-Maqburī, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah, while Abū Aḥmad al-Zubayrī differed from him and narrated it from Kathīr, from Saʿīd, from Abū Hurayrah. Yūnus b. ʿUbayd also narrated it, and there is a difference about him: Ibn ʿUlayyah and Abū Hammām Muḥammad b. al-Zibriqān al-Ahwāzī narrated it from Yūnus, from a man of the people of Medina whom they did not name, from al-Maqburī, from Abū Hurayrah. ʿAnbasah b. ʿAbd al-Wāḥid named him from Yūnus, saying: from Muḥammad, a man of the people of Medina. It is also said from him: Muḥammad b. Ziyād, which is not sound. Abū Marwān al-Ghassānī narrated it from Yūnus, saying: from Muḥammad b. Saʿīd, from Abū Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah, and he erred in this statement; the correct one is the statement of Ibn ʿUlayyah from Yūnus. Suhayl b. Abī Ṣāliḥ narrated it from Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from Abū Hurayrah, saying in it: "A woman must not travel a barīd." Suhayl also narrated it with another chain, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah: "A woman must not travel a barīd." He erred regarding Suhayl, because what is preserved (maḥfūẓ) from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Hurayrah is: "A woman must not travel three." Likewise al-Aʿmash narrated it from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Hurayrah as well. There is a difference about al-Aʿmash in the chain: ʿUthām b. ʿAlī and Mālik b. Suʿayr said from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Hurayrah. Abū Muʿāwiyah differed from them and said: from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Saʿīd. Abū Yaḥyā al-Ḥimmānī said from al-Aʿmash, with doubt.
