machine translationThis is a sound (ṣaḥīḥ) hadith. I heard ʿAbd b. Ḥumayd say: I heard Yazīd b. Hārūn mention from Muḥammad b. Isḥāq this hadith, and the hadith of al-Ḥajjāj, from ʿAmr b. Shuʿayb, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet ﷺ returned his daughter Zaynab to Abū al-ʿĀṣī with a new dowry and a new marriage. Yazīd b. Hārūn said: The hadith of Ibn ʿAbbās has the better chain of transmission, but the practice is according to the hadith of ʿAmr b. Shuʿayb.
