Translation

Al-Ḥārith ibn Ḥassān al-Bakrī (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: We arrived in Madīnah, and there was the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ upon the pulpit, with Bilāl standing before him, girded with a sword, before the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ. There were black banners, and I asked what these banners were for. They said, “ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ has returned from a military expedition.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 260
