Thulathiyyat (Musnad Ahmad) 248
Musnad Jundub ibn Sufyān al-Bajalī al-ʿAlaqī, of Kūfah (may Allah be pleased with him)
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، سَمِعَهُ مِنْ جُنْدُبٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ: «أَنَا فَرَطُكُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ» قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: «الْفَرَطُ الَّذِي يَسْبِقُ»
Translation
Jundub ibn Sufyān al-Bajalī (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ said: “I will be your forerunner at the [Kawthar] Pond.” Sufyān [ibn ʿUyaynah] explained: “The faraṭ is the one who goes ahead of others.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 248
