حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ هِلَالَ بْنَ يَسَافٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:
" إِذَا حَدَّثْتُكَ حَدِيثًا فَلَا تَزِيدَنَّ عَلَيَّ، أَرْبَعٌ هُنَّ مِنْ أَطْيَبِ الْكَلَامِ وَهُوَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ، وَلَا يَضُرُّكَ بِأَيِّهِنَّ بَدَأْتَ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ، وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ

✧ "When I narrate a hadith to you, do not add to it upon me. Four are among the best of speech, and it is from the Quran, and it does not harm you with whichever of them you begin: 'Subhan Allah', 'Al-hamdu lillah', 'La ilaha illa Allah', and 'Allahu akbar'."
