حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي خَارِجَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ:

" افْتَقَدْتُ آيَةً كُنْتُ أَسْمَعُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَؤُهَا، فَالْتَمَسْتُهَا، فَوَجَدْتُهَا عِنْدَ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ: مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللهَ عَلَيْهِ، فَأَلْحَقْتُهَا فِي سُورَتِهَا

Translation

✧ I missed a verse I used to hear the Messenger of God ﷺ recite. I searched for it and found it with Khuzayma b. Thabit: "Among the believers are men who have been true to what they pledged to God." I appended it to its surah.
