حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ، عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْجَارُودِ. عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

" لَا يُعْجِبَنَّكَ رَحْبُ الذِّرَاعَيْنِ يَسْفِكُ الدِّمَاءَ، فَإِنَّ لَهُ عِنْدَ اللهِ قَاتِلًا لَا يَمُوتُ، وَلَا يُعْجِبَنَّكَ امْرُؤٌ كَسَبَ مَالًا مِنْ حَرَامٍ، فَإِنَّهُ إِنْ أَنْفَقَهُ أَوْ تَصَدَّقَ بِهِ لَمْ يُقْبَلْ مِنْهُ، وَإِنْ تَرَكَهُ لَمْ يُبَارَكْ لَهُ فِيهِ، وَإِنْ بَقِيَ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ كَانَ زَادَهُ إِلَى النَّارِ

Translation

✧ Do not be impressed by a man with wide forearms who sheds blood, for he has a killer with Allah who does not die. And do not be impressed by a man who earns wealth unlawfully, for if he spends it or gives it in charity, it will not be accepted from him; if he leaves it, it will not be blessed for him; and if any of it remains, it will be provision for him to the Fire.
