حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ يَقُولُ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ:
" إِنِّي لَأَعْرِفُ السُّوَرَ النَّظَائِرَ الَّتِي كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرُنُ بَيْنَهُمَا، قَالَ: فَأَمَرْنَا عَلْقَمَةَ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ: عِشْرِينَ سُورَةً مِنَ الْمُفَصَّلِ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرُنُ بَيْنَ كُلِّ سُورَتَيْنِ فِي رَكْعَةٍ

✧ "I indeed know the paired surahs that the Messenger of God ﷺ used to join together." He said: So we ordered 'Alqama to ask him, and he said: Twenty surahs from the mufassal, the Messenger of God ﷺ used to join between each two surahs in one rak'a.
