حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ الْأَوْدِيُّ ثنا حِبَّانُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ
لَمَّا قَتَلَ عَلِيٌّ ؓ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ أَصْحَابَ الْأَلْوِيَةِ قَالَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ هَذِهِ لَهِيَ الْمُوَاسَاةُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِنَّهُ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ» قَالَ جِبْرِيلُ وَأَنَا مِنْكُمَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ

✧ When ʿAli ؓ killed the standard-bearers on the day of Uhud, Jibril ﷺ said: “O Messenger of Allah, this is indeed consolation.” The Prophet ﷺ said: “He is from me and I am from him.” Jibril said: “And I am from both of you, O Messenger of Allah.”
