حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ مُرَّةَ قَالَ
دَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَقُلْتُ أُصَلِّي عِنْدَ كُلِّ سَارِيَةٍ فَجِئْتُ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ وَعِنْدَهُ أَصْحَابُهُ وَهُمْ فِي حَدِيثِي فَقَالَ «لَوْ عَلِمَ أَنَّ رَبَّهُ عِنْدَ السَّارِيَةِ الْأُولَى مَا تَرَكَهَا حَتَّى يَقْضِيَ صَلَاتَهُ»

✧ I entered the mosque and said: I will pray at every pillar. Then I came to ʿAbd Allāh while he was sitting and his companions were with him, and they were talking about me (?). He said: “If he knew that his Lord is at the first pillar, he would not leave it until he finished his prayer.”
