حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ أَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ

كُنَّا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللهِ فَجَاءَ ابْنٌ لَهُ عَلَيْهِ قَمِيصٌ حَرِيرٌ فَقَالَ «مَنْ كَسَاكَ هَذَا؟» قَالَ أُمِّي قَالَ فَشَقَّهُ قَالَ «قُلْ لِأُمِّكَ تَكْسُوكَ غَيْرَ هَذَا»

✧ We were with Abdullah when a son of his came wearing a silk shirt. He said, "Who clothed you in this?" He said, "My mother." He said, "So he tore it." He said, "Tell your mother to clothe you in something other than this."
