حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ
إِنَّ شَّيْطَانَ الْمُؤْمِنِ يَلْقَى شَيْطَانَ الْكَافِرِ فَيَرَى شَيْطَانَ الْمُؤْمِنِ شَاحِبًا أَغْبَرَ مَهْزُولًا فَيَقُولُ شَيْطَانُ الْكَافِرِ مَا لَكَ؟ وَيْحَكَ قَدْ هَلَكْتَ فَيَقُولُ شَيْطَانُ الْمُؤْمِنِ لَا وَاللهِ مَا أَصِلُ مَعَهُ إِلَى شَيْءٍ إِذَا طَعِمَ ذَكَرَ اسْمَ اللهِ وَإِذَا شَرِبَ ذَكَرَ اسْمَ اللهِ وَإِذَا دَخَلَ بَيْتَهُ ذَكَرَ اسْمَ اللهِ فَيَقُولُ الْآخَرُ لَكِنِّي آكُلُ مِنْ طَعَامِهِ وَأَشْرَبُ مِنْ شَرَابِهِ وَأَنَامُ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَهَذَا سَاحٌّ وَهَذَا مَهْزُولٌ

✧ The Satan of a believer meets the Satan of a disbeliever. The Satan of the believer appears pale, dusty, and emaciated, so the Satan of the disbeliever says, "What is the matter with you? Woe to you, you are ruined." The Satan of the believer says, "No, by Allah, I cannot get at him with anything. When he eats, he mentions the name of Allah; when he drinks, he mentions the name of Allah; and when he enters his house, he mentions the name of Allah." The other one says, "But I eat from his food, drink from his drink, and sleep on his bed." So this one is fat and that one is emaciated.
