حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زَائِدَةُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ قَالَ

عَبْدُ اللهِ إِذَا سَأَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ عَنِ الْآيَةِ فَلَا يَقُولُ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ وَلَكِنْ يَقْرَأُ مَا قَبْلَهَا ثُمَّ لْيَحُلْ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ حَاجَتِهِ

✧ Abdullah said: "When one of you asks his brother about a verse, he should not say, 'Such-and-such,' for that is not upon him, but he should recite what comes before it, then let him come between him and his need."
