حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ حَمْدَوَيْهِ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ ثنا وَهْبٌ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حَرْمَلَةَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ هِنْدَ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَسْمَاءَ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ قَالَ

بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ فَقَالَ «ائْتِ قَوْمَكَ فَمُرْهُمْ أَنْ يَصُومُوا هَذَا الْيَوْمَ» قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا أُرَانِي آتِيهِمْ حَتَّى يَطْعَمُوا قَالَ «مُرْ مَنْ طَعِمَ مِنْهُمْ أَنْ يَصُومَ بَقِيَّةَ يَوْمِهِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on the day of Ashura and said, 'Go to your people and command them to fast this day.' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I do not think I will reach them until they have eaten.' He said, 'Command whoever among them has eaten to fast the rest of his day.'
