✧ Ibn Masood used to recite the Quran to a man. The man recited the verse "Verily, the sadaqat (charity) are only for the poor and the needy" incorrectly. So Ibn Masood said, "This is not how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it to me. He recited it as 'Verily, the sadaqat are only for the poor and the needy'." And he elongated it.
